Join Flex at MD&M West in booth #2459 from Feb. 4 – 6 to see how we are advancing design and manufacturing excellence through medical devices. Network with industry professionals to swap ideas, find inspiration, and overcome challenges.
On Feb. 4th, Kate Benedict, President, Health Solutions at Flex, will describe the journey in sustainability that has also led to Flex’s Lighthouse designation at two of their manufacturing sites, Althofen, Austria and Sorocaba, Brazil. She will share how companies can integrate the following for a robust sustainability program throughout a product’s lifecycle:
- Sustainable manufacturing practices that reduce waste and energy consumption
- Circular Economy, which is designing products that are easier to repair, refurbish and/or recycle
- Sustainable supply chain that includes responsible sourcing of materials, ethical labor practices, and reducing the environmental impact of transportation
- Technologies and product design for environment, which is incorporating sustainability into design, focusing on those that are energy-efficient, use sustainable materials, and have a lower environmental impact throughout their lifecycle
- Collaboration and partnerships with customers, NGOs, and industry groups to share best practices and drive sustainability initiatives across the industry
- Transparency including an annual, comprehensive sustainability report
