# Farm’s Robert Charles Featured in Medical Design Briefs Magazine, June Issue

Farm’s Robert Charles, Design & Engineering Manager, was featured in the June issue of Medical Design Briefs 2016 Outsourcing Guide and Directory. In the article, “[Removing Blinders: A Key to Medical Device Innovation](http://viewer.zmags.com/publication/132d80a8#/132d80a8/30),” Robert discusses how medical device companies often have trouble stepping outside their comfort zones, and how a development team will optimize a design around a set of requirements, constraints, and assumptions that blind the team from exploring and discovering alternative solutions.

This article examines how medical device companies can get past these blinders by adopting a development approach built around teams with broader, less specific experience, and explores how this type of team structure can unlock more innovative thinking.
