Farm’s Longtime Leader, Jack Harkins Retiring After 34 Years

Written by Darrin Manke | October 13, 2016

It is with heavy hearts, but warm wishes, that Farm announces the retirement of our longtime leader, co-founder and president, and most recently, Farm/Flex general manager, Jack Harkins. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, since 1982 Jack has seen Farm grow from three people to its current staff of 50+ human factors engineers, designers and engineers. He has spent his career largely in the development of medical and life science products for companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 100 OEMs.

Jack has had a huge influence on the shaping of Farm’s past, present, and future. He’s been dedicated to Farm’s success for over three decades, and was instrumental in ensuring our company’s future growth with the integration of Farm and Flex this past year. Please join us in wishing Jack the very best, and congratulating him on his retirement!

I’m privileged to have spent the past many years helping Farm grow. We wouldn’t be here without the hundreds of loyal clients we have served over the decades. I’m thankful to have worked alongside not only the most talented people in the industry, but also some of the most considerate - always willing to sacrifice for each other and for our customers. I wish everyone at Farm great things in the future.

With gratitude,

Jack Harkins

After 16 years at Farm, Darrin Manke will be replacing Jack as general manager. Darrin has held several leadership positions during his career at Farm, playing a key role in the company’s operations, marketing, business development and strategic growth. Darrin brings 25 years of extensive knowledge and first-hand experience in product development to his new role, and has managed the successful creation of healthcare products and systems for clients ranging from start-ups to Fortune 100 OEMs.

I want to thank Jack for his friendship, encouragement, and leadership during my career at Farm. I’m honored to accept the role of general manager, and excited to be a part of Farm’s future success.
