**Cardinal Health**  
Diamond Line 2.0

Farm developed a universal handle for Cardinal Health's new line of laparoscopic instruments. Farm developed a research plan and interviewed 24 surgeons in multiple disciplines to gain an understanding of the user needs and competitive product preferences. The interviews were extensive and were combined with ethnographic and observational research of live procedures, which led to insights for the final design and detailed engineering of the handle. The product features dramatic improvements in ergonomics with an optimized handle shaft angle, larger rings and improved force distribution on the thumb/fingers. A removable insert gives broader size alternatives and better griping capabilities. The Diamond Line 2.0 maintains a substantial feel while improving backlash and rotation knob performance over previous products.
