Design Manager

Farm is seeking a Design Manager to join our talented and dynamic product development group and play a critical role in creating the next generation of advanced medical technologies.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing development teams, with focus on product strategy, user workflows, data analysis, problem framing, brainstorming, designing, usability, ergonomics and branding. The Design Program Manager will be responsible for building and growing strong client relationships by delivering successful solutions on time and within budget.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do…
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring regarding all facets of product development and program management to team members.
  • Author proposals, including project plans, schedules with appropriate milestones, and estimates for both resources and material costs.
  • Work with Directors, Senior Management, and other Program Managers to identify and secure the best internal and external resources to complete assignments.
  • Plan, coordinate, facilitate, and lead teams on client programs.
  • Participate in weekly resource allocation decisions.
  • Be responsible for maintaining schedule and program plans.
  • Monitor and reassess project budgets by phase and overall.
  • Be ultimately responsible to ensure that the content, quality, accuracy, and style of deliverables meet the customers’ requirements.
  • Manage the balance between client satisfaction and team member well-being.
  • Maintain a commitment to the practice of the highest quality development processes.
  • Have knowledge of and ensure compliance with Farm’s Quality Management System for programs they are responsible for.
Here is some of what you’ll need (required)...
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited school.
  • 5+ years of work experience, or a combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated program management and client management skills in industrial design.
  • Sufficient maturity to interact with program participants in a cooperative and productive manner and to reflect broader policy considerations of the business.
  • Demonstrated versatility and competency levels in creativity and technical comprehension.
  • Proven creative capacity as evidenced by the ability to invent, conceptualize, and abstract.
  • Demonstrated ability to use current program management tools; proficient in Windows operating system and other engineering/development software.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Project management/technical leadership experience.
